Law enforcers arrest 45 bln rbl assets in Magomedov brothers’ case
MOSCOW, Nov 16 (PRIME) -- Law enforcers have arrested 45 billion rubles worth of assets in a case of the Magomedov brothers, who are charged with theft of more than 11 billion rubles, the Interior Ministry’s spokeswoman Irina Volk told reporters on Monday.
“During pre-trial investigation, arrest was imposed on the assets of the defendants worth over 45 billion rubles to compensate the financial damage they inflicted and due to the possibility of property confiscation,” she said.
The Prosecutor General’s Office said it had passed to court the criminal case against Ziyavudin Magomedov, his brother Magomed, and four other defendants who were charged with fraud, embezzlement, and organization of a criminal gang. The authority also launched a separate civil action demanding the two brothers redeem more than 5.8 billion rubles to the government.
In March 2018, the Tverskoi District Court of Moscow issued orders to arrest the Magomedov brothers on charges of a 2.5 billion ruble embezzlement and Artur Maksidov, CEO of Inteks, part of Magomedov’s Summa Group, on charges of 669 million ruble embezzlement.
